The Curse on Mordrake House takes place during the late 1800's and in the fictional village of Winston's Heath, located in rural England. Written in iambic pentameter, the play revolves around Sir Mordrake, a member of the landed gentry whose pride makes him believe he lives outside the ethical scope of common men. For his arrogance, callousness, and lechery, he’s cursed by a Summer Walker to have his three children taken from him through supernatural means. “Your first will die by water. Second, sky. The third, she will be swallowed by the woods.” Mordrake struggles with a reality that he cannot understand as five vignettes reveal the fate of his sons and daughter while exploring themes of faith and morality.
